HRM Practices in Saudi Aerospace Industry

This document provides a summary and analysis of a case study on HRM practices at Saudi Aerospace Engineering Industries. The case study examined how Saudi Arabia is modernizing its workforce and economy through HRM functions. While the analysis found the case study provided useful insights, it lacked statistical evidence to fully support its claims. Overall, the analysis concluded the case study was a good learning tool but would have benefited from stronger evidence linking its analysis to the aerospace industry.

in which he wrote his case study which is called “Human Resource Management (HRM)
Practices: Saudi Aerospace Engineering Industries Case Study”, specifically the company
called Arabian Gulf Manufactures LTD.

The following research will take us through the introduction of the paper in which it describes the
case study and its purpose of the case study. The introduction will also establish the core
question it will undertake.

The report will go on and do a full analysis of the case study. It will describe and explain what
the case study’s research conducted and its design of study as well as the methods used to
carry out the research. The report will analyze the measurement tools involved, and will have an
analytical summary of the research. The analysis part of the research will also procure the
weakness and limitations of the case study as well as procure what it has learned from
analyzing the case study.

Finally, it will conclude and summarize and establish its decision and make its final opinion on
the case study with further comment and learnings from the case study.
Introduction

Mr. Muhammed Nabeel Siddiqui and his “Human Resource Management (HRM) Practices:
Saudi Aerospace Engineering Industries Case Study” takes on the HRM functions of the
radically changing and modernization of Saudi Arabia, and the country’s reform of its
infrastructure of cooperative management along with its reduction of foreign dependency.

Siddiqui’s case study takes on the issue of the paradox on the high unemployment rate the
young population of Saudi Arabia is facing, despite the fact there is a vast amount of resources.
Siddiqui’s case study is an interesting take as this is an important issue to tackle for the sake of
Saudi Arabia and its economy. As the high unemployment rate will only lead to disaster, he also
sequentially states that there is no easy solution like throwing resources at it and hoping it would
solve itself.

Siddiqui’s case study states that the key factors that is upscaling the unemployment is due to
many factors including low motivation, abysmal benefits, and lack of satisfaction with high
expectation of salary demands. We will review Siddiqui’s analysis on if Saudi Arabia be able to
regain the negative losses it has gained in recent years.

Analysis

The Case Study itself takes in Saudi Arabia, where it starts of giving a brief introduction of Saudi
Arabia, including its founding history and how its governance works, as well as its geographical
details.

The Case Study then moves on and states how globalization has affected Saudi Arabia, which I
believe Siddiqui made and excellent point. With its vase reserve of oil Saudi Arabia has almost
entirely relied on its export of Oil to the rest of the world to enhance its economy. This led Saudi
Arabia to a new era both politically and life style wise.
Siddiqui then goes on to his main point of discussion (HRM Functions in Saudi Arabia), he starts
off with a good point in which he states Saudi Arabia’s official clarification of human resource
Management structure; economic structure, political stability, the prevailing labor market, the
societal and national culture and the HRD policies. This is a good way to start the literature
review as it gives the reader a firm and solid idea on Saudi Arabia’s HRM situation.

The Case Study also expands on how Saudi Arabia and Middle East in general are more prone
to lean towards collectivism, while countries in America are run on individualism. While I do
agree with this statement speaking from personal experience, Siddiqui does not state his
evidence to back up his claim.

Siddiqui’s case study makes an argument that several countries are starting to get deeply
embedded in a knowledge-based economy. Where its reliance is heavily on the intellectual
capabilities rather than on physical and natural resources. He then carries his conversation on
the balance of religion and work economy and how deeply rooted religion is to the people of
Saudi Arabia and how it overcomes and coordinates with the individuals work life and how
Saudi Arabia is in a deep rooted battle to balance to balance the modernization while
maintaining its core religious and cultural values.

Siddiqui then concludes his literature review by linking his points to HRD development of Saudi
Arabia and how it has made a vast improvement in the last decade and a half. And how HRD
was developed to evolve the hiring practices in Saudi Arabia to a more altered organizational
climate and ensure that HRM is a diverse and ever evolving tool and not just a “one size fits all”
approach.

The Methodology Muhammed Nabeel Siddiqui chose is based on existing literature sources and
is the blueprint of the entire case study.

While I did learn new things, specifically the link of Saudi Arabia and its modernization in the
work force economy via HRD functions, I do believe that there was a lack of hard statistical
evidence to back up the claim. If Mr. Siddiqui had provided those hard facts to back up his
claims I believe that the case study would have a strong standing. For example, “. It is

believed that organizations in the eastern region or Middle East region are more prone towards

collectivism.” While I do agree with this statement, I believe the case study should have some
stats on this to further implement his point.

Conclusion

Overall, Siddiqui’s Case study of “Human Resource Management (HRM) Practices: Saudi
Aerospace Engineering Industries Case Study” had many strong arguments and points but
lacked in evidence to back up his claim. He also does not have a strong link to his title of
Aerospace industries either. Although as mentioned before, the case study itself is a good
learning tool of the modernization of Saudi Arabia in the work force economy via HRM
functionality.
