The erroneous sentence 'My friend is as strong like a horse' should be corrected to 'My friend is as strong as a horse.' The word 'like' should be replaced with 'as' to correctly follow the 'as...as' comparison structure. .

To compare actions using 'as...as' with regular verbs, the structure is 'S1 + V + as + adv + as + S2'. An example is 'He sings as beautifully as she does.' .

The structure 'the same ... as' is used to express equality, with the pattern 'S1 + be/V + the same + N + as + S2'. For example, 'The price of the guitar is the same as the price of a cello' shows the price similarity between the two instruments. .

The errors in 'This exercise isn’t hard as I thought' can be corrected by properly applying the 'as...as' structure. It should be 'This exercise isn’t as hard as I thought.' The second 'as' is missing, which is essential in this comparative structure. .

In negative comparative sentences, 'as' and 'so' can both be used before adjectives or adverbs depending on preference or formality. For example, 'My guitar is not as expensive as hers' versus 'My guitar is not so expensive as hers'. The use of 'so' is considered more formal or old-fashioned. Both serve to express a lesser degree of the adjective/adverb in S1 compared to S2. .

To complete a sentence comparing numbers or quantities using 'the same ... as', the structure is applied as 'S1 + have + the same + (unit/quantity) + as + S2'. For example, 'This class has the same number of students as that class.' This structure equates the numerical quantity of one subject to another. .

To construct a sentence indicating two subjects have different characteristics using the structure 'different from', you use the formula: 'S1 + be + different from + S2'. For example, 'Their results are different from our results.' .

To form a sentence comparing equal characteristics with adjectives using 'as...as', the structure is: 'S1 + be + as + adj + as + S2.', such as 'He is as old as my father.' .

The sentence 'His cat isn’t the same pretty as mine' should be rephrased to 'His cat isn’t as pretty as mine.' This correction involves changing 'the same' to 'as' before the adjective 'pretty' to align with the correct 'as...as' comparative structure. .

'Different from' is used to highlight differences between two subjects, focusing on distinctive characteristics. For instance, 'Humans are different from other animals.' In contrast, 'the same as' indicates equivalence or similarity, such as 'The price of the scarf is the same as the price of the gloves.' These structures serve opposite purposes: one for establishing distinctions and the other for establishing equivalence. .
