CONSTRUCTION METHODOLOGY
FOR MBR ELECTRO – MECHANICAL WORKS
METHOD STATEMENT:
The METHODOLOGY in the production of a SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT (STP) is divided into three main
parts namely:
1. FABRICATION WORKS – is the in-house local manufacturing of equipment from the designs of
2. MECHANICAL WORKS – is the installation of equipment from third party suppliers
3. ELECTRICAL WORKS – is the preparation, installation and interfacing of the various electrical and
mechanical components of the STP
Aside from these 3 methods, other steps undertaken are
1. MOBILIZATION – The entry and site preparation of equipment and personnel necessary to
undertake the production of the STP. This includes the delivery of equipment and tools for the STP.
2. TESTING AND COMMISSIONING – is the checking of each equipment supplied and installed as
well as the checking of the system as a whole to comply with standards of design of the STP.
3. DEMOBILIZATION – is the inverse of MOBILIZATION wherein the personnel and equipment of are
pulled out of work area. A prerequisite of this is that the TESTING and COMMISSIONING phase is
completed and approved.
5
METHODOLOGY
1. FABRICATION WORKS – is comprised of the fabrication of components of the STP suited for the
design criteria given.
a) Fabrication of Fiber Reinforce Plastic Tank – FRP tank will be fabricated in our factory located in
Tanza Cavite. Our factory has adequate equipment like winding machine for fabrication of FRP body
and enough supply of materials to fabricate the tank
b) Water and Discharge Piping – Influent (Water) and discharge piping is inter-connected with PVC
sch. 40 piping. Connection with other components are made through screw on components and
flanges. Hangers and mountings are made with angle bars connected through dynabolt.
c) Railings – are fabricated with G.I sch. 40 with arc welding methods. Connections are done with base
plates connected with dyna-bolts.
d) Manhole Covers – Fabricated with fiber reinforced plastic
2. MECHANICAL WORKS
a) Submersible Pumps – The pumps are securely connected to the receiving water/discharge lines
with proper fittings. They are specifically utilized to transfer wastewater from the flow adjustment
tank to the Anoxic tank and also serve as effective mixers in the Anoxic Tank. These pumps are
strategically located at the Flow Adjustment Tank and Anoxic Tank for optimal performance.
b) Aeration Blowers – The machines are securely mounted on concrete pads to effectively distribute
vertical force. Each connection with the concrete pads is meticulously installed with rubber
bushings to significantly reduce noise and vibration. This approach ensures the supply of ample
oxygen for our microorganisms, enabling them to efficiently degrade the organic loading in the STP.
The machines are strategically located in the machine room to maximize their operational
effectiveness.
c) Suction Pumps – are mounted in concrete pads to distribute vertical force and each connection with
the concrete pads are installed with rubber bushings to reduce noise and vibration. Use as the
suction force supplier needed in the Membrane. Located at the machine room
d) Air Diffusers – are screwed on airlines through NPT Connections. Located at the Membrane
Separation Tank
e) Chemical Tank with Metering Pump – use in supplying chemical to STP for the adequate removal
of phosphorus, ammonia and nitrite. Located at the machine room
f) Membranes - membranes act as a solid-liquid separation device, keeping the biomass within the
bioreactor before discharging the treated effluent to the nature. Membranes are connected to the
MBR tank with interconnecting pipes and suction pipe.
6
3. ELECTRICAL WORKS
a) Conduits – are installed with necessary wire way material. Hangers and mountings are made with
angle bars connected through dyna-bolts.
b) Wiring – Uses stranded (THHN) wiring. Wires are connected between devices. No wire and wire
connections are to be installed.
c) MCC – Motor Control Center has enamel Coated steel casing are installed with necessary
breakers, relays and wiring. NEMA 4r.
