The General Measure of Enterprising Tendency (GET2) is an authentic self-assessment test that

measures enterprising potential and other associated characteristics. Therefore, I was pretty

interested in taking this test since I also have much interest in the fields of entrepreneurship and

innovation. Through this test, I was certain that I would gain much information regarding myself

in the specified fields. In this reflective portfolio, my performance will be critically analyzed in

the test GET2, the critical areas that it assessed, and the implications of the results that predicted

the likelihood of my personal and professional growth. This reflection also gives a sneak peek

into who I am as a person relating to the skills needed to conquer the field of entrepreneurship

and innovation.

Additionally during the period in class, the professor was very supportive and helped me nitpick

some of my major flaws and issues when it comes to entrepreneurship. This was a major boost to

my morale while undertaking this test and it made me feel the support to improve my

entrepreneurial personality. The further support and cooperation from my teammates helped me

make feel as part of a community in all. Though there were reoccurring differences in thought

and ideas, mutual agreement sufficed and we came to an understanding. Further, these

differences made me broaden my perspective of the entrepreneurial sector and helped me garner

knowledge on how to traverse this wide niche.

Test Materials

The test materials from the GET2 test contained statements in which I had to rate whether I

agreed or disagreed through a Likert scale. They are designed to measure different aspects of

enterprising behavior and tendencies. These test materials aimed to measure one's

entrepreneurship potential and innovative aptitude based on various characteristics and qualities.

The statements referred to achievement needs, autonomy, creative tendency, calculated risk-
taking, and the locus of control. Thus, the test was supposed to reveal to me my propensity

toward initiating and carrying out projects of a creative nature, my need for success and

independence, the level of my creativity and inventiveness, my ability to engage in risks of a

calculated kind, my belief in control over my destiny, through the answers that I provided to the

above statements.

Most of the test materials were self-evaluation tools that made me appreciate the enterprising

tendencies better, their strong points and the potential to develop or grow in entrepreneurship and

innovation.

Reflective Analysis results

Enterprising results

These showed that I had a total of 91% on the GET2, which shows a very enterprising tendency.

What was meant by this result was that I can undertake and organize all kinds of projects and

activities, be it an entrepreneurial project, an in-house company activity, or a community

activity. It was already noted that most of its attributes resonated well with my personality and

how I undertake various challenges of life: a high need for achievement, autonomy, creativity,

risk-taking through calculated measures, and internal locus of control. The completion of the

report's results captured my future orientation, reliance on my abilities, optimism, task

orientation, and drive to achieve having received a 92% score in the need for achievement

category. It further showed that I did connect with the description of being opinionated,

determined, and persistent in the pursuit of aims, even in the face of difficulties. As such, the

willingness to set challenging yet realistic goals and work hard to attain them is part of my very

fiber. The results in this further showed that I am aware of my own qualities to be successful and
the upside to this is that with this knowledge, I also can further formulate plans and goals that

could help me meet my success further through improvement.

Autonomy results

Autonomy is a basic psychological prefix and my results told me that I scored 83% under the

need for autonomy, meaning I am likely to be wholly independent and self-expressive. This

further meant that I appreciate the ability to work on my projects and being on the path that I

have designed, but not on anyone else's terms or directives. Being a leader who likes being in

control and hates taking orders is very much me even though I know that in every pursuit,

collaboration and the seeding of good relationships are necessary, if not crucial.

Creative Tendency results

This recorded a high score of 92% in the creative tendency category, where I powerfully portray

imaginative and innovative tendencies. Intuition, change orientation, and versatility are my

nature, and I am curious about new ideas. The quality of being intuitive in the field shows that

when decision making I am capable of making good guesses that could affect my ventures in a

positive way. Being a person of solid creative tendencies, I am able to come up with out of the

box innovative and creative ideas that could be groundbreaking in the field. With such attributes

I am urged to explore new concepts, break out of routines, and seek unconventional solutions to

problems.

Calculated Risk-Taking results

A high score of 92% was revealed in the calculated risk-taking dimension, which means I

encompass attributes of decisiveness, self-awareness, being analytical, having a goal orientation

and managing information. This affords me the capability of weighing opportunities, weighing
potential benefits versus costs, and taking a calculated risk if information permits such a

decision. Taking calculated risks here through the information filtered would help me further

mitigate the damage or losses to my ventures in case any mishaps occurred that would lead to

that.

Locus of Control results

The results here showed a score of 92% on my locus of control. It stated that I had an internal

locus of control belief which meant that I can control my life and assume personal responsibility

for how things turn out for me. My nature is articulated as opportunistic, confident, proactive,

resolute, and self-believing about effort and personal attributes as determinants of success.

Evident Learning.

Through my academic and professional career and on various activities or projects, I had the

opportunity to develop or reveal the characteristics considered as such according to the GET2

test. When I was in university, I co-founded a student-run startup to provide eco-friendly

products. This experience provided me with an opportunity to use creative and innovative

thinking. It also provided an avenue that challenged me to take risks, manage resources

effectively, and have an autonomy in decision-making.

Further, I became better in leadership skills and gained independence, locus of control, and need

for achievement through indulgence in the events organization and leadership in these student

organizations. My involvement in all these activities and ventures further cements my results as a

past statement of a life that I have led. Additionally, all of the above acted as proof for my

statement that a person is the owner of his actions and, therefore, the architect of his destiny.

Overall result findings.


The findings from the test results of the GET2 were quite invaluable and informative. They will

no doubt help me set future goals for growth and guide me on how one can devise an action plan

in this connection. The report and results within will confirm that my strengths include creativity,

risk, and autonomy and that there is importance in looking for complementary and balanced

skills. Most importantly, for further relationship development, the report shows the high request

for autonomy from my end, which may not always prove healthy when working in a team. I can

handle this situation by consciously developing my communication, empathy, and conflict

resolution skills to effectively control constructive partnerships in groups, yet without losing my

independence. The improvement of this will further improve my relationship with those that I

choose to work with or collaborate with in the various projects that I undertake in the future.

Some areas that need development are in the domain of decision-making and prioritization. On

the bright side, my creativity is recognized in the report. But simultaneously, it feels like a

caution against the danger of stretching oneself too thin by running too many opportunities

simultaneously.

With this in mind, it is evident that proper decision-making and the formation of solid

frameworks for prioritization are essential for guiding the efforts towards the most promising and

impacting ideas. Secondly, knowledge augmentation should be a continuous process about

business planning, market analysis, and financial management. I can continue my learning on

this by enrolling in online courses, workshops, and mentorship programs that will expose me to

how business can be planned for wisely in the face of constraints yet with much clearer

perspective.

Conclusion
This GET2 test has confirmed that many vital sites of enterprising tendencies in me have traits

attached to them. Results further affirm my strengths in creativity, autonomy, risk-taking, and

internal locus of control as essential qualities befitting an entrepreneur with the essence of

innovation and success. But further reflection has drawn out specific areas of growth and

development. These include; relationship-building, decision-making and continuous learning.

Specific goals with actionable plans implemented would make it possible for me to capitalize on

my existing strengths and at the same time address potential problems and enhance my overall

enterprising potential. The reflective portfolio is also helping me learn further from the

assessment and my personal growth. Not only has this assisted in the overall comprehension of

the tendencies and qualities inside me, but also set a roadmap for personal and professional

development.

As I get into the entrepreneurial journey, the thing that I can be sure to further grow in is the

embrace of a growth mindset, seeking learning experiences together with the continued

development of skills and attitudes appropriate for surviving in a constantly changing business

environment. This will help me further enhance and sharpen my skills which will give me a

cutting edge front in the entrepreneurial and innovation sector.
