• It is the emotional, physiological and
psychological effects caused by an internal or
external mental pressure.
• Stress is the body’s automatic response to any
physical or mental demand placed on it.
Adrenaline is a chemical naturally produced
in our body as a response to stress . Fight or
Flight response is elicited.

⚫ Acute stress: it is
the result of short-
term stressors. It is
quite intense, then
disappears quickly. It
can be exciting and
invigorating in small
doses, but too much is
exhausting.
⚫ Episodic acute stress: This
is the person who elicits the
response “what now”?
⚫ They cannot seem to get their
act together and cannot
organize the many self-
inflicted demands and
pressures clamoring for their

and unpleasant taking place in one’s life can cause stress
⚫ Daily routines: fighting the rush hour traffic, meeting the deadline
