1 skein of 1.8 oz (50 g) Baby Wool, color 25 24 sts in 4” (10 cm) in pattern with 3
1 skein of 0.9 oz (25 g) Diablo, color 14 strands.
1 skein of 0.9 oz (25 g) Diablo, color 39
Pattern information
Circular needles US size 2.5 (3 mm) and 6 The hat is knit with 1 strand of each
(4 mm) 32” (80 cm) color/quality = 3 strands. The hat is knit in
1 double pointed needle US size 6 (4 mm) the round using magic loop.
Pompom, natural 13 cm Ø The double pointed needle is used to knit
the smock pattern.
Qualities The top of the hat is knit in ribbing.
Baby Wool​, Happy Sheep You can attach a pompom at the top.

Pattern
Cast on 120 (128) sts with 3 strands of yarn on needle 2.5 (3 mm) and knit the ribbing: k2,
p2. Knit until you have 1.2” (3 cm).

Switch to needle 6 (4 mm) and knit 2 rounds of ribbing like before.

Continue in pattern.
Round 1: *place 6 sts (2 knitted, 2 purled, 2 knitted) on the double pointed needle, wind the
yarn (from behind) twice around these sts, ​knit these 6 stitches, ​p2*. Repeat around = 15
(16) times winded.
Round 2: Knit ribbing – k2, p2.
Round 3: Knit ribbing – k2, p2.
Round 4: Knit ribbing – k2, p2.
Round 5: Knit ribbing – k2, p2.
Round 6: k2, p2, *place 6 sts (2 knitted, 2 purled, 2 knitted) on the double pointed needle,
wind the yarn (from behind) twice around these sts, ​knit these 6 stitches,​ p2*. Repeat
around = 15 (16) times winded.
Round 7: Knit ribbing – k2, p2.
Round 8: Knit ribbing – k2, p2.
Round 9: Knit ribbing – k2, p2.
Round 10: Knit ribbing – k2, p2.
Repeat these 10 rounds.

Knit till the piece measures approx. 7” (7½”) or 18 (19) cm. Finish with 2 rounds of ribbing,
k2, p2.
Start decreasing:
1st decrease-round:
*k2, p2tog*. Repeat * to * around = 90 (96) sts.
Knit 2 rounds in st pattern.
2nd decrease-round:
*k2tog, p1*. Repeat * to * around = 60 (64) sts.
Knit 1 round in st pattern.
3rd decrease-round:
Move the start of the round 1 st to the left.
*k2tog*. Repeat * to * around = 30 (32) sts.
k around.
4th decrease-round:
*k2tog*. Repeat * to * around = 15 (16) sts.
k around.
5th decrease-round:
k1(0), *k2tog*. Repeat * to * around = 8 (8)

Cut the yarn and pull through the sts, tighten and weave in on the wrong side.
