HOLIDAY HOMEWORK

CLASS: X SESSION: 2024-25

ENGLISH
1. Write character sketch of the following.
(a) Lencho (b) Nelson Mandela
2. Write down 20 proverbs and homonyms with their meanings and their uses.
3. Write a script on any ‘Social Issue’ it should be divided into four scenes. Name of the character
should be mentioned properly.
4. Make a toran of English idioms that reflects the spirit of learning.
Note:- Q1 and Q2 should be done on separate thin note-book.
Q3 has to be done on loose sheets and compile it in a folder.

HINDI

MATHS
1. Practise all the questions of chapter – 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 (only Ex- 5.1 and 5.2)
2. Solve miscellaneous exercise of chapter – 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
3. Solve the following questions:-
(i) If 1 is a zero of the polynomial p(x)=ax2-3(a-1) x-1, then find the value of a.
(ii) If one zero of the polynomial x2-4x+1 is 2+√3_, write the other zero.
(iii) For what value of k, the following pair of linear equations have infinity many solutions.
2x+3y=7, (k-1)x+(k+2)y=3k
(iv) A man sold a chair and a table for ₹1520 thereby, making a profit of 25% on the chair and
10% on the table. By selling them together for ₹1535 he would have made a profit of 10% on
the chair and 25% on the table. Find the cost price of each.
(v) If the equation (1+m2)x2+2mcx+(c2-a2)=0 has equal roots, prove that c2=a2(1+m2)
(vi) A fast train takes 3hrs less than a slow train for a journey of 600km. If the speed of slow train
is 10km/h less than that of the fast train. Find the speed of two train.

(vii) The sum of two numbers is 8. Determine the number if the sum of the reciprocals is

10-12 pages)

(iii) Parallel combination circuit – Roll no. 41 to 50

administrative system efficient. What was the impact of Napoleonic refers on the rest of
Europe? Paste the chart in your history notebook.
