TIKTOK ADDICTION: A COMMUNITY ACTION PLAN ON THE

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
TikTok application has seen widespread distribution, in particular, attracting
young users to engage in viewing, creating, and commenting on “LipSync-Videos” on the
app. Users can create whatever types of videos they want on this app and post it for
anyone to see, despite a large majority of posts being people dancing to music. This app
has attracted mostly to teenagers who are in the stage of emerging adulthood.
When the pandemic started TikTok application become more popular than in the
past years because citizens have been forced to stay in their house and reach the point
that they become impatient somehow. Therefore numerous teenagers start using TikTok
app just to entertain themselves, and the more time per week that teenagers spend on
TikTok application, the more they become addicted to TikTok.
That's why we, the volunteers came up with the idea to conduct a seminar to
spread awareness that the TikTok application can harm our physical and mental health as
well as the academic performance of young people if they don't use it correctly or if they
consume it abusively. In our seminar, the volunteers gave examples of causes, negative
effects and solutions to prevent addiction to the said app and we also conduct some
activities to see if everyone gain knowledge or awareness on the said app and
furthermore, to find out how many people are addicted to the TikTok application.

COMMUNITY PROFILE:
The volunteers conducted a seminar to the grade 11 ABM ( Accountancy,
Business, and Management Strand ) and GAS ( Geeral Academic Strand) students,
section Bloom from Colegio de San Gabriel Arcangel Poblacion Campus. The chosen has
a population of 48 students . The volunteers planning to conduct the said community
action in this section because based on our observation, this section are more capable and
open minded in the given topic in view of the fact that many student from section Bloom
are using Tiktok Application.

INTRODUCTION TO THE PLAN:
We came up on this community action plan because nowadays, many students are
being abusive in using TikTok Application where it comes to the point that it affects their
physical and mental health, as well as their academic performances. As a HUMSS
students, we observe that being addictive in using the given app are being normalize
nowadays that's why we, as volunteers in this community wants to make changes by
spreading awareness about TikTok Addiction.
The person who are involved in this community action plan are we, the
volunteers, grade 11 ABM and GAS students, and some teachers and facilitators from
Colegio de San Gabriel Arcangel-Poblacion. The seminar will be manage by the
volunteers from grade 12 HUMSS students, section Janis, from Colegio de San Gabriel
Arcangel-Poblacion Campus, and by this, we can assure that this action plan will be

crystal clear because the facilitators of this seminar are trained and has compassion to
others and the community where we what changes for the betterment of the community.
The said community action plan will be held inside the school of Colegio de San
Gabriel Arcangel-Poblacion and being facilitated by some teachers and faculty. Rest
assured that the time of this seminar will be held on their free-time and not on their class
hours.
