In line with the K –12 program and the goal of making every child a reader, the Department
of Education conducted CRLA (Comprehensive Rapid Literacy Assessment). This is
designed to assess a pupil’s reading skill and grade readiness. It is designed to address
specific reading challenges among participants, including comprehension difficulties,
decoding issues, and fluency concerns.

Goals and Objectives:

Assessment: Conducted comprehensive assessments to identify individual reading


challenges.

Individualized Plans: Developed personalized remediation plans based on assessment


results.

Targeted Interventions: Implemented evidence-based strategies and interventions to


address identified weaknesses.

As a Grade 1 teacher at Tomas Sagun Integrated School, I am reminded every day that teaching is not only a
profession but a vocation that requires deep commitment, compassion, and integrity. Working with young learners
at the beginning of their educational journey is both a great responsibility and a privilege. I see each child not just
as a student, but as a whole person with unique needs, abilities, and dreams. This belief is what guides my daily
practice and upholds the dignity of teaching as a noble profession.

One of the key practices I uphold is treating every child with respect and patience. In Grade 1, students are still
adjusting to the structure of formal education, and it is my role to create a safe, supportive, and nurturing
environment where they can grow with confidence. I make sure to listen to their voices, respond with empathy, and
