Transport Policy in the Philippines

Activity Instructions

Step 1 – Viewing . Watch the video from the link provided

 Students take notes on three key points raised by Rico Hizon and Sec.
Vince Dizon about:
a) Corruption in infrastructure projects
b) Transport planning and ongoing projects (Build, Build, Build,
railways, expressways)
c) Public accountability and governance

Step 2 – Guided Group Discussion (4–5 members)

 Discuss and answer the following prompts:

1. What were the main infrastructure challenges highlighted in


the interview?

2. How does corruption affect the success of transport projects?

3. Which transport policies or projects mentioned do you think have


the most potential impact on urban mobility? Why?

4. Suggest two strategies that could improve transparency and


efficiency in transport project implementation.

Step 3 – Output (Group Submission)

 Each group creates a 1-page policy brief (or infographic)


summarizing their analysis and recommendations.

 Output should include:

o Key issues identified

o Proposed solutions

o PDF File compiled by Class Mayors on a Gdrive Link
