Bad ideas give knowledge

@nightwonder7 / nightwonder7.tumblr.com

I draw both fanart and original stuff. DO NOT REPOST! (reblogs are welcome!) ASK FOR PERMISSION TO USE MY ART! Thanks for stopping by to look at my content! Feel free to ask me anything about my art or characters!

I remember when I was checking out IDV for the very first time, I was watching various essence, character and CoA trailers in hope that I'd learn about the lore. Which of course just resulted in utter confusion when you know NOTHING about the premise or where to start looking at it. Diving into IDV alone was a wild ride, to say the least. Probably not the best way to go about getting into a franchise, in hindsight hfhegyhrh

I also remember reading the comments mentioning all the characters appearing by name and I just couldn't understand for the life of me how these people could point out which one was which so easily (which was kinda dumb to think, I know). Meanwhile I was just trying to deduce which name belonged to which character in the videos and kept mixing some of them up. Now I recognise the cast pretty well, I think.

why am i now just realizing that all of the 2025 nymph winners have familial issues (specifically their mothers)?? what a crazy lineup

A little comfort for all the trauma, if you will.

This was an entry for an art contest my friend was hosting for their webcomic, Sagacious Deific, which is in its final season currently. Do check it out if you're into mysteries, thrillers and a bit of horror (some content warning).

The task was to draw your OCs in-universe of the comic; AKA as a death angel and the one haunted by them. I went with Cyril and Angelica, who are originally an exorcist/demon hunter and someone possessed by a demon. I had a lot of fun working on this!

Is it okay that a friend of mine is allowed to do a comic dub with your idv comics. The source of the comic will be from Instagram or Tumblr. We will of course give credit and thanks for allowing us to dub your comics.

Go for it! I would be delighted! ;W; Please do send me a link though, I'd love to see it! ๐Ÿ‘€

How does Valentine's day go for the AOM crew? Does anyone give gifts at all?

Avatar

OOOooooohhh I'm a little late for this, but let's see... ๐Ÿ‘€

I feel like most of them would be a little reserved in terms of giving gifts to each other; especially Valentine's gifts. Most of them don't really get along after all.

But I can see Alice giving something small for each of them as a show of appreciation or even an olive branch for some of them (with everything that went down during their manor game). Like a card or a sweet treat. Nothing that is meant to be deep or personal per se, but a way to show them that she holds no ill feelings towards them and wants to move on from everything that happened. Throwing nortalice into the mix: perhaps this small gesture could be a stepping stone into their early stage relationship. Norton would reluctantly and suspiciously accept her gift. Perhaps he even reciprocates it with a favour, an act of service. He hates to be in debt even though this never was meant as one. But if it's an established relationship, they would both put a little more effort into each other. Though they have a mutual understanding that they don't have to stress with V-day gifts to show that they care for each other. They would rather spend the day on a special date and creating memories together. None of them are particularly romantic, but I still find it cute thinking about them giving each other flowers and sweets fgdshjkgfhdsj

Otherwise Norton would not bother with gifts at all. It's a waste of money, and none of these people are worth a penny nor the effort (except for Alice). Small digression, but throwback to that one Valentine's Day event a few years ago where Norton was being a total Karen dsghjsgfdfg

The lion, the witch and the audacity of this guy smh. Though I have to admit, this event added some interesting tidbits to his lore.

Anyway!

Melly would most likely be inclined to gift only Alice something. A jar of honey in a bow perhaps. Maybe even some flowers from the greenhouse. Nothing for the men though fdshjfsfd

Orpheus would also be most inclined to extend a gift to Alice exclusively. A well written card or a short story with subtle nods to their childhood.

Frederick probably wouldn't want to be a part of any of this V-day stuff.

Fool's Gold becomes very possessive of Alice whenever they're in the same game. Over time, the other survivors (especially the harasser types) learned that it was wiser to just let Alice distract Norton while they work on getting the cipher machines done. Alice also prefers this game strategy when they go up against Fool's Gold as it leads to less damage and it soothes Norton's otherwise troubled hunter mind. It doesn't always work though; sometimes Fool's Gold just wants to hunt everyone down before he settles down with Alice.

However, things get rather chaotic whenever a newcomer enters the manor and doesn't heed the unspoken rule of leaving Alice and Norton alone. They practically become a prime target to Fool's Gold's wrath for many matches to come.

Mine!

A NortAlice oneshot

Alice sighed as her radio went crazy with pings from Freddy Riley, who was busy containing the hunter. Alice usually appreciated getting pings, it helped her know where she needed to be and who needed help. But in a match like this, against Foolโ€™s Gold, Freddy didnโ€™t want aid. He wanted another easy win.
โ€Help me! Journalist ping your location! Help me! HELP ME!!!!โ€ Alice sighed as she pinged the cipher she was currently working on. A few moments later, she felt the pickaxe fly by behind her.
โ€œTreasure!!โ€ Fools gold suddenly cheered as he pulled himself toward her. Alice couldnโ€™t help but smile as the puppy coded hunter sat next to her. โ€œI was looking for you everywhere! I wanted to use the guy with the weird teeth to bring you to me but I found you!โ€
โ€It seems you have.โ€ Alice chuckled as she continued decoding. Fools gold continued to be silly around the journalist. Placing stickers on the cipher machine and giving her head pats.
โ€Youโ€™re quite affectionate today hm? Something good happen lately?โ€ Alice mused.
โ€Youโ€™re here.โ€ The hunter smiled, causing Alice to smile as well.
โ€Are you planning something?โ€ She poked the hunter as she finished the cipher.
โ€Whoever said such a thing?โ€ The hunter snorted as he stood, throwing his pick over his shoulder. โ€œWell, I guess we could go have some fun in-โ€œ
Suddenly, a blur of red came between Alice and the hunter. She gasped as she felt someone take her hand and pull her away. Looking up, she saw the newest member of the Oletus manor. Alice felt her stomach drop as the matador dragged her away.
โ€Mr Romero, what are you-โ€œ
โ€Donโ€™t worry Ms Journalist! I am simply aiding in your escape. Leave the rest to me.โ€ He said with a charming smile. Alice pulled away from the Matador.
โ€Wait, Mr Romero you donโ€™t understand-โ€œ Before Alice could explain, the ground shook violently and the hunter came around the corner.
โ€Hey, what the fuck do you think youโ€™re doing?โ€ He growled, angry and menacing. Like the silly demeanor from earlier had never existed. Hernando stood protectively between Alice and Foolโ€™s. A large grin on his face.
โ€And so it begins.โ€ He flared the muleta he carried dramatically. โ€œRun Seniorita! I will deal with this beast!โ€
โ€œHernando wait-!โ€ Alice had no time to speak as the matador charged at Foolโ€™s. The hunter went to swing at the new survivor, but was instead pushed back while Hernando dashed toward a kiting area. And of course, the hunter followed, blinded by rage. Alice sighed as she facepalmed. This was going to be a long game.
<><><><><>
Foolโ€™s gold finally managed to catch the new survivor, shoving him in a chair with excess force. Hernando coughed and groaned.
โ€Haha, you are quite the angry one huh?โ€ Fools smacked the chair.
โ€Shut up! This is what you get for taking my treasure!โ€
โ€Treasure?โ€ Hernando arched his brow.
โ€I was trying to tell you.โ€ Alice sighed as she approached the chair. Hernando's eyes widened as he saw the journalist approach.
โ€Ms Journalist, get away from here! The hunter will-!โ€
โ€Treasure! Donโ€™t rescue him!โ€ Foolโ€™s gold pleaded, dropping to his knees before the journalist. โ€œHe doesnโ€™t deserve to be rescued by you!โ€
โ€Pyrite please, calm down.โ€ Alice sighed as the hunter buried his face in her shoulder. Hernando sat in the chair staring at the pair with complete utter confusion.
โ€Imโ€ฆ Sorry, what is going on here?โ€ He asked. Alice turned her head to the chaired survivor.
โ€Pyrite and I are in a relationship. So itโ€™s an unwritten rule for all survivors to not bother us if weโ€™re in a match together.โ€ Hernando stared at Alice long and hard.
โ€And he doesnโ€™t hurt you?โ€ He then muttered, still trying to wrap his head around the whole concept.
โ€No, he doesnโ€™t.โ€ Alice confirmed. Hernando sat silently as he processed everything.
โ€If youโ€™re just hoping to distract him the entire time, then what is the point of this game? Itโ€™s no fun simply standing around while you doโ€ฆ Whatever it is.โ€ Fools gold straightened up slightly, glaring at Hernando. But before the hunter could do anything else, Alice pulled him back down by his scarf.
โ€It may be strange to you. But youโ€™ll get used to itโ€ฆ eventually.โ€ Alice shrugged. Hernando sighed, head lolling to the side.
โ€This place is possibly the strangest to exist in this world.โ€ Alice then went to free Hernando, chuckling at his familiar words.
โ€Again, you get used to it.โ€ As she touched the chair, Hernando snapped back upright.
โ€Oh no, donโ€™t bother freeing me Ms Journalist! I want to know the thrill of theseโ€ฆ What are they called? Rocket chairs?โ€ Alice arched her brow.
โ€You sure?โ€
โ€Yes Maโ€™am.โ€
โ€Good, because I would have let you go far anyway.โ€ Fools gold said as he picked Alice up. โ€œCome on treasure, let's go to the gate.โ€
โ€Ok ok. See you back at the manor Mr Romero.โ€
โ€But of course Ms Journalist.โ€ Hernando said with a charming smile and a wink. Fools gold huffed as he turned on his heel and made his way to the gate, Alice still in his arms.
โ€I donโ€™t like that guy.โ€ He growls. Alice sighed and shook her head, leaning on him.
โ€Oh Pyrite.โ€

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH that was so good hhhhhhhhhhhhhh ;W; The stark contrast between when FG is with Alice and when he's with anyone else fgdshfjgsk And Alice just wanting to defuse the situation ;u; Thank you so much for writing this!! It was such a delight to read! >w<

Compared to Norton, how is Melly handling the faction shift so far?

I feel like Melly would have handled it better than Norton. She adapts to new environments pretty well, and that would also include the hunter role. The hunter forms in most of the identity characters tend to originate from some form of pain. While Melly is no exception, I think it would also be liberating for her, in a way. Maybe even spark some curiosity. Becoming one with her passion. Though she'd probably feel bad for hurting some of her fellow survivors. Regrets pouring in once she snaps out of the hunter mindset.

I'll also add that I do think Norton is pretty adaptable as well, considering his backstory. And he'd also feel liberation in his hunter role. I just think it's funny to give him a horrible lag phase when he became a hunter vjghlhkvjgxgjx with that being said, I feel like Melly would be more perceptive than Norton and not fall into faction confusion so easily.

The yearly art summary!

I didn't make as much as I hoped I would. Had some art block the first half of the year, and got very busy with irl stuff the other half. My Art Fight performance kinda reflected that as well. But I manage to produce something every month despite it all. Which is something, I guess...

Next year I hope I'll be able to put more of my ideas out; I have so much I still want to share. And I hope to just do more art in general. I also hope to do more varied content, which I totally failed to do this year fjhgcjhfh

Thank you all for sticking around for all my sillyness! And thank you for all the interactions you've left on my posts, the asks you've left in my inbox (which I'm still working on vjhjfjjcgj) and for following me! It really means a lot! ;w; I'll see you next year! <3
