I tried to cancel my Fathom Business plan and what followed was one of the most frustrating customer support experiences I've had with a SaaS tool.
The core issue: there is no bulk download feature. If you want to leave Fathom, you have to download every single call recording individually. For anyone with a large call library built up over months with a team, this is completely impractical. When I raised this, support kept pointing me to Zapier workarounds — which only work for new calls going forward, not your existing library.
The result? You're effectively trapped paying a monthly subscription while you slowly chip away at downloading your own data one file at a time. That's not acceptable.
Support was polite but went in circles. I asked the same question multiple times and got different, contradictory answers from different agents. Nobody took ownership of the problem or offered a meaningful resolution.
I also asked for a simple email address change on my account — a basic account management task — and was told I needed to add DNS TXT records to two domains to verify ownership. Overkill for what should be a routine request.
Fathom may work fine while you're in it. But the moment you want to leave, you'll find out how little they've thought about the exit experience.

It’s very accurate at capturing meeting notes and action items, which is genuinely helpful. I also appreciate how it breaks the meeting down into the most important parts. The points are hyperlinked, and they take me straight to the exact timestamp in the meeting if I want to review anything.

It's a great product! It syncs with my calendar and automatically joins my meetings so that it can take its notes for me. Less admin time for me overall.

Fathom has been very helpful in my day-to-day work. Since I conduct interviews, I need to carefully analyze candidate profiles, and the summaries it generates make this process much easier. It helps me stay more organized and have better control of the information.

Genuinely love using Fathom because of how intuitive and user‑friendly the platform is. When integrated with Microsoft Teams and Zoom, it seamlessly notifies me of upcoming scheduled meetings and automatically begins recording as soon as I join, which eliminates any extra steps or manual setup. One of Fathom’s standout features is the speed of its meeting recaps; they’re delivered almost immediately after the meeting ends, which is a huge improvement compared to similar platforms I’ve used in the past.

The value of Fathom’s free features is impressive, and the Ask Fathom AI tool is particularly efficient and helpful for quickly pulling insights and action items from meetings. Because of my positive experience, I’ve already recommended Fathom to others within my organization. I would absolutely continue using and advocating for the platform, and I would not hesitate to utilize its paid enterprise or business features should I move to an organization that is able to invest in a subscription.

Customer support has also been top-notch with troubleshooting a minor integration issue. I use Fathom almost daily for my scheduled meetings, especially interviews to create transcripts and track action items. Absolutely wonderful tool!

Great product that genuinely makes working easier

It's very easy to use - install it on your PC, connect with your account/calendar and all meetings will be recorded and the summary sent to you and to the participants!

I love that the free version records all meetings, transcribes it, makes it searchable.

Easy to set up; easy to use. The marker buttons that allow you to drop custom pins throughout the conversation is a really cool feature.

I like having a focused tool for processing customer interviews. All the UI features, like highlights, custom summary formats, etc—feel geared towards this specific kind of work. It integrates seamlessly with Google Meet and there isn't any kind of lag, it just works. The onboarding process was simple and covered everything. Also appreciate being able to create reusable AI prompts for call summaries so there are consistent summaries between calls.

Doing 1-3 customer interviews per week, it works out to around $2-$3 per call for my use case, which feels a little high but definitely worth the time savings processing transcripts manually.

Love Fathom. Been using it for years. Looking forward to using their API! Its a great platform, easy to use, and their team is great at addressing any issues. They care about their users and it shows.

This version of Fathom is not as good as the early Fathom. I was one of Fathom's early adopters, and only recently upgraded after testing it through the various iterations. I was happy to have upgraded until it suddenly became impossible to log in the last 2 days. Two crucial client meetings were missed, login is now a an endless loop of login screens, Support asked me to log in so things could be sorted it, but of course, I can't do it, and so I feel like I'm not getting the service I paid for.

I absolutely love Fathom. I have had no issues using it, it's super user friendly, easy to navigate and does everything I need and more. The auto functions are the best! It saves me about 3 hours daily on not only creating minutes but sending tasks to the relative parties. I use it daily and it's all customizable so if there's something I don't like or want to change, i can do that.

Tremendous service. Was in urgent need of proper transcripts for multi-lingual meetings and Fathom succeeded were other products couldn't. AI generated action points are killer feature and absolutely spot on

Fathom is the freaking best! We have tried otter.ai, read.ai, and others. Fathom blows them all away. Their notes are detailed, accurate, and timely. They automatically send the meeting notes to everyone in meetings immediately for quick review when memories are fresh. I have not had any problems using Fathom and cannot recommend it highly enough.

Fathom works really well with MS Teams. Sometimes when MS Teams hasn’t notified me of a meeting, Fathom has picked it up instead. It also prompts me to record meetings, which is particularly useful for many of my compliance-related discussions, and it provides excellent summary information afterwards.
