ORAL AND POSTER SUBMISSION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By submitting an abstract, you agree to the following:

1. All abstracts must be submitted in English and via the online submission site only.
2. Abstracts must only be submitted once.
3. Authors may submit more than one abstract, however only two abstracts will be accepted per
presenting author (one oral and one poster OR two posters). If you have two orals accepted, you
will be asked to nominate a co-author to present one of your orals or designate one of them as a
poster. The co-author must be listed in your abstract.
4. Oral and poster abstracts MUST include the following headings:
Introduction / Rationale
Objectives
Methods / Approach
Results / Practice Implications
Conclusion / Significance to the Occupational Therapy profession
Abstracts without this structure will not be accepted. Note: 250 abstract word limit.
5. Proposed studies / projects should be advanced or completed at the time of abstract submission.
In the case of research that is not completed, the evidence may reflect projected or preliminary
data.
6. The author is responsible for the accuracy of the abstract.
7. The acceptance of an abstract does not imply provision of travel, accommodation or registration for
the Congress, nor any other costs associated with preparation or
presentation of the abstract, or any costs associated with attendance at the Congress.
8. By submitting an abstract/s, you together with any co-authors give permission for the abstract to be
published in printed materials, website, App and social media.
9. If the author(s) has any commercial interests or associations that might pose a conflict of interest
regarding this submission, they must be declared. If accepted for presentation, the commercial
interest or association must be declared on the title slide or the slide immediately following the title
slide or poster.
10. That the submission has been approved by all authors.
11. That you will not submit abstracts if previously published elsewhere.
12. The submitting author agrees to present the material described and accepted in their abstract
submission.
13. Presenting authors of accepted abstracts must be registered by October 2025 to ensure inclusion
of the abstract in Congress materials and in order to be scheduled for presentation.
14. There is a limit of two presenters per oral presentation.
15. Authors will be notified regarding the outcome of the submission on or shortly after 9 July 2025.
Abstracts will undergo an anonymous review by two (or more) peers.
16. At least one author must be available to present the abstract IN PERSON if selected for the
programme. The authors will immediately notify the WFOT 2026 Congress Office if they are unable
to present an abstract or if the presenting author has changed.
17. Congress abstracts will be published as a WFOT publication with relevant DOI/ISBN number.
18. All congress abstracts will be included in the publication unless otherwise indicated at the time of
submission. No changes permitted after the submission process.
