Criteria and Abstract Guidelines

2. ABSTRACT CRITERIA FOR SELECTION
To ensure your abstract stands out, submissions should align with the event’s theme Pathways To An Energy Future For All and demonstrate relevance to the energy industry. Here are the key criteria for submission:
Quality - The abstract should be clear, structured, and easy to understand. The abstract should include essential information and remain consistent throughout.
Originality - The abstract content and findings should be unique and distinct. The content of the abstract should not derive solely from existing sources.
Objectivity - The abstract should be objective and avoid the use of subjective terms or personal opinions. It should be backed by relevant data and references.
Relevance - The abstract should be relevant to the topic selected and appropriate keywords should be used.
3. ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Abstracts should be written in English and should be submitted electronically using the online system only.
The abstract should include the speaker and all co-authors’ names and organisations.
The abstract should be approved by the speaker’s management/ legal department.
Once submitted, the abstract cannot be edited. If you realise an error has been made let our team know and we can adjust as needed.
Abstracts are text only, tables etc. can go in the papers and presentations
Use standard abbreviations in parentheses after the full word appears at the first time.
Use sentence-style capitalisation (capitalise only the first letter of the first word in the title, proper nouns, and the first word following a colon).
When finalising the online submission, it is imperative to click the «submit» button for final submission of the abstract. A message will then appear informing you that the abstract has been submitted successfully.
The submitter will receive an e-mail confirming the successful submission of the abstract.
Speakers are requested to register to the 25th WPC Energy Congress using the special speaker rate.
The speaker must ensure that all co-authors approve of the abstract's content before submitting the abstract.
Notification of receipt and acceptance will be sent to the abstract submitter only.
Full research abstracts must describe original work that has not been previously published, not accepted for publication elsewhere, and not simultaneously submitted or currently under review in another journal or
conference (including other forums of 25th WPC Energy Congress)
Please do not submit the same abstract more than once. If you believe your abstract is relevant to multiple categories, please select one that is the best fit.
Please do not use language that is commercial in tone in the title or text.
The correct topic must be selected to ensure correct scoring. The content of the abstract must be topic-related. It is the responsibility of the submitter to ensure that abstracts are submitted under the correct topic.
One person can submit multiple abstracts within the same category or across multiple categories. However, please do not submit the same or slightly modified abstracts multiple times.
Representatives who want to submit more than one abstract, the second or more abstracts should be submitted using the same User ID/Email Address (on the submission platform) that was created for the first
abstract.

4. ABSTRACT FORMAT

Abstract Body
A proper review of your abstract requires that it contain adequate information on which to make a judgment. Written in English and containing maximum 450 words or minimum of 225 words.
5. REQUIREMENTS BEFORE SUBMISSION
Please review the forum descriptions to ensure the best placement for your abstract submission.
Prepare your abstract text in a word processing programme (e.g. Microsoft Word) for easy copy-paste into the online form.
Prepare your brief biography (max 100 words). Biographies should summarise your current position, educational qualifications, brief career details and major work achievements to date, including any areas of
specialisation. Biographies should be written in the third person and should be clear and concise. If your abstract is selected for presentation at the Congress, your biography will be published as is in the online
Congress programme.
Make sure you have a professional photo, head and shoulder style, JPEG format, sized at least 400 × 400 pixels and no larger than 2MB. If your abstract is selected for presentation at the Congress, your
professional photo will be published in the online Congress programme.
Have information on co-authors, if applicable (full name, organisation and email address).
Example of brief biography:
Mrs. Brown has been working in the energy industry for almost 20 years. She is currently a senior consultant at the International Energy Research Institute in NewTown. She studied engineering and automation at the
University of Applied Science in NewTown. After her studies she spent 12 years at Company X in various roles and has been involved in projects Y and Z. Her research is focused on the grid connection of energy
systems and components. She has received awards for her work in the fields of A, B and C.

Online Abstract Submission Process, Next Steps
6. ONLINE ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
Using the online system
Create an account: Abstracts may only be submitted via our online abstract submission portal. The first time you use the system, you must create your own submitter account. Using this
account, you are able to create and submit multiple abstracts.
Add abstract details: Add the abstract title, description and other abstract details.
Add the speaker details: Fill in speaker and all co-author details (if required).
Editing speaker details: If you need to edit your speaker details or add in your photo and bio, click the Submit your Abstract button on the Call for Papers webpage and login to your account.
You can then access your profile.
Withdrawing an abstract: If you wish to withdraw your abstract, please contact us on speaker@[Link] and the team will assist you.
*ONLY the submitter email will receive notifications related to Acceptance of Abstract submissions.
7. NEXT STEPS: AFTER ABSTRACT HAS BEEN SUBMITTED
All abstracts will be reviewed by the Congress Programme Committee.
You will receive an email regarding the status of your abstract.
All accepted abstracts will be informed whether it is accepted as Paper or Poster presentation.
Once the abstract is accepted, the speaker is required to register using the special speaker rate to attend the 25th WPC Energy Congress.
