Consul R is an antagonist in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. She is a member of the Consuls and is in charge of Colony 11.

Appearance and personality

As with most of the Consuls, R wears the standard red armor and black cape. R also wears a helmet shaped like the head of a jackal. She has amber eyes. In her Moebius form, R takes the form of a lithe, bipedal monster with a distinctly feminine build, pointed "ears" or horns resembling those of her helmet, a mouth full of pointy teeth caught in a permanent sneer, an infinity sign over her navel, a ring around her waist, and sword-like protrusions on her wrists.

R thinks highly of herself, considering herself to be a genius strategist: she is a chess master, and the soldiers are her pawns. Cunning and confident, R delights in seeing her plans come to fruition—but if things go awry, she becomes furious. She has a tendency to rely on underhanded tactics, such as when she has W attack Ashera from behind. R has a sharp tongue and frequently subjects her adversaries to verbal abuse. She is prone to fits of maniacal laughter, both when she’s amused and in response to stress. As is typical of Moebius, she demands respect and considers affronts to her authority unforgivable.

Story Arc

Main story

R is present at Origin in the Amphitheater where she is seen playing chess with V whilst observing a battle. She ends up losing while N and Z look on repulsed. R is later seen among her fellow Consuls when X calls O and P.

The Wrath of Ashera

R is the main antagonist of The Wrath of Ashera, sending Colony 11's aggressive soldiers after Ashera and the party as they raid the colony. When confronted, R transforms into her Moebius form, backed up by her soldiers, but is defeated. R demands Ashera to kill her, but she is spared, much to her anger and flees.

A Deep-Seated Scar

R is also the main antagonist of A Deep-Seated Scar. Enraged over her previous defeat, R declares war on Colony 11, bringing a force that comprised of both Keves and Agnus, her forces manages to overrun the Colony. After the party is cornered, R challenges them to a duel, as part to restore her dignity and to exact revenge, should they refuse or go back on their word, she will resume her attack, forcing the party to accept her invitation.

However, the duel was just a ruse to lure Ashera out, allowing Consul W to ambush her and control her. However, the party manages to free her, prompting both Consuls to transforms in their Moebius form but were defeated. In her dying breath, R mocks Ashera as she fades away into blue motes, laughing.
