Engaging English Lesson on Turtle Cycle

An English lesson on the book "The Baby Turtle" was observed by the teacher's MCT. Various materials like sand, toy turtles, and two demonstration boxes were used to engage students and teach them about the turtle life cycle in an interactive way. Some new classroom management strategies worked better than others during the reading lesson. The students remained very active and interested throughout the activities.

Reflection 15

October 30, 2017

It was a nice day I taught an English lesson and my MCT observed me. I
think that I taught that lesson very well. I used many things to engage
the students while I read the book which called the baby turtle. I tried to use new
classroom management strategies when I teach reading lesson. Some strategies
works with students and some don't work. The students were so active with me and
so engaged to see the materials that I have such as sand, mother turtle toy and baby
turtle toy. I used those materials to encourage the students to learn about the
information in the book. The information about the turtle cycle and the students has
to read the sentences with the teacher. I summarized the turtle cycle by
demonstrating 2 boxes that represent sea and beach in order to show the turtle
cycle in interesting ways. That's to engage the students to learn about the turtle
cycle.
