TUL orientation and tutorial
Begin at the Get Started page to learn about our catalog Library Search, explore our FAQs, utilize Research Guides, and review the undergraduate or graduate user guide. A virtual tour of Charles library and the “Expedition Charles” online tutorial will help you become familiar with the spaces and services offered at the library. Use My Library Account to view your library requests and transactions. You can use the interlibrary loan service, ILLiad, to request materials not available at Charles. - Elevators: Charles Library has two accessible elevators that provide access to each floor of the building.
- Entrances: Charles Library’s entrances at 13th Street and Liacouras Walk have push-button door openers, as does the 24/7 space door at Polett Street and Liacouras Walk.
- Library floor plans: The Explore Charles Library page offers graphic floor plans of the building and the what you need to know page provides information about key library resources and services.
- Rescue assistance: If you are unable to evacuate or need help to evacuate during an emergency, please contact Temple University Campus Safety Services at (215) 204-1234 and give them your location in the building.
- Restrooms: Restrooms can be found on each floor of the library and are wheelchair accessible.
- Parking: Prepare for your visit to Charles Library with an interactive map of the campus that includes features such as accessible building entrances, accessibility restrooms, curb cuts, ramps, tactile paving, handicap parking locations, and transportation.
- Photocopiers: Copy machines are available on the first and fourth floors.
- Print stations: Print stations are available on all floors. To print in Charles, use Temple's Print on the Go service.
- Scanners: The first floor copy machine can be used for scanning. An overhead book scanner is also available near the guest computers on the first floor.
- Study rooms and study spaces: Charles Library has public study spaces throughout the building. Small and large group study rooms may be reserved for two one-hour blocks of time by Temple students, faculty, or staff. The TechCenter also has group breakout rooms and quiet computing spaces.
