Using Meescan to Checkout
All books and DVDs must be checked out before leaving the building. Meescan empowers patrons to checkout their own items through the Meescan kiosk, or on the Meescan mobile app.
Kiosk Checkout
- Tap your OWLcard or OWLcard mobile on the kiosk’s ID reader
- Scan the Temple University Libraries barcode under the red light at the bottom of the tablet for each item you want to checkout
- Select “Finish”
Mobile Checkout
- Download the Meescan app
- Grant Meescan permission to view your location
- Select the Login icon on the bottom right of the screen and enter your Accessnet credentials
- After logging in, select “Start”
- Tap the plus sign icon to check out items
- As prompted, align the Temple University Libraries barcode in the window and hold still to allow the app to autoscan
- Select “Finish” once you have scanned all the items you want to checkout
After checking out, you will receive an automated email receipt for your loans. Items can be renewed through your account on the library website.
